Operating across the Upper Far North, Bellingham Quarries undertake bulk earthworks, site preparation, drainage, road and river work, sea walls, and rock walls. Our quarry operations, transport fleet and earthmoving machinery allow us to manage multiple parts of a project and get the people, equipment and materials where they need to be.
Bellingham Quarries operates 20 to 40 tonne excavators alongside bulldozers, dump trucks, trucks and trailers, giving us the capacity to tackle substantial earthmoving as well as smaller projects. The scale of that capability was demonstrated during the decommissioning of the Kaitaia Dam, where we moved approximately 50,000 cubic metres of earth.

Farm roads and accessways
Working with our associates, we can construct farm roads, forestry roads, driveways and other unsealed accessways, as well as maintaining existing roads with grading and reshaping, pothole repairs, re-metalling, drainage work and slip repairs.

Sea walls, rock walls and river work
Projects involving large rock, waterways or difficult terrain call for the right machinery, materials and operators who know how to work with them.
Bellingham Quarries constructs sea walls and rock walls, with each project assessed on site to determine the best approach. Previous work includes a sea wall at Te Hapua, along with river work in the Far North.
Our ability to supply large rock from our own quarry operations is a significant advantage when both earthmoving capability and substantial quantities of rock are required.
Site preparation and drainage
From bulk excavation and ground preparation through to shaping and levelling, Bellingham Quarries can undertake the earthworks needed to get a site ready for the next stage of a project.
Drainage can be incorporated into the work where required, including water tables, subsoil drainage and culverts. Every site is different, so for more involved projects we'll come out, look at the conditions and work through what is required.
Coordinated earthworks, aggregate and cartage
Our contracting work can bring together earthmoving, road construction, drainage, aggregate and rock supply, cartage and the machinery required to get the job completed. Having those capabilities within one business makes it easier to coordinate the work and reduces the number of separate contractors and suppliers involved.
